SUMMARY:Algorithmen und Werkzeuge für Petrinetze & Workshop on Process-Cent
 ric Objects 2026
DESCRIPTION:We are happy to announce that this year's AWPN workshop takes p
lace at the FernUni Hagen from September 21st to September 22nd 2026! As wi
th the latest iterations, AWPN continues as an open and welcoming platform
for researchers of all academic ages that want to discuss their latest work
and get new ideas in the process. This year, AWPN is co-located with a new
workshop on process-centric objects organized by Gabriel Juhás and Robert
Lorenz. This workshop takes place from September 22nd to September 23rd 202
6, complementing AWPN's friendly discussions and athmosphere. Make sure to
save the dates as soon as possible so you don't miss out! We look forward t
o seeing you all!  \n\n\n\nCall for Paper AWPN:\n\nThis year, we are reques
ting contributions in the form of extended abstracts, describing ideas for
current research projects or tools. The submissions will be divided into se
ssions, and each contribution will be presented in a 20-minute slot. Follow
ing the sessions, we will form working groups to discuss the presented topi
cs and foster collaborations.\n\nWe welcome all contributions concerning to
ols, applications, and theory in the field of Petri nets and related formal
isms. Possible topic areas for our sessions include, but are not limited to
:\n\n Petri Nets and Software Engineering Petri Nets and Business Process
Modeling Petri Nets and Process Mining Petri Nets and Model Checking Pe
tri Nets in Education \n\nPlease submit your extended abstracts in English
or German as PDF files in LNCS style to robert.lorenz@informatik.uni-augsbu
rg.de by July 19th August 17th, 2026. This year, the page limit is 2 pages,
excluding references. Contributions will not undergo a detailed review pro
cess but will be assessed by the program committee for relevance to the AWP
 N. If requested by the participants, we also have the option to publish the
extended abstract in proceedings, offering a digital object identifier. Ac
cepted contributions will be invited for presentation at the AWPN until Aug
 ust 8th August 20th, 2026. Registration deadline is September 7th, 2026. Th
e workshop will take place from September 21st to September 22nd 2026.  \n\
n\n\nCall for Paper PROSE:\n\nRecent advancements in Business Process Model
ing and Process Mining have improved the discovery and visualization of com
plex organizational behavior by treating objects as first-class citizens of
a workflow model. However, a significant gap remains: discovered models pr
imarily provide a global runtime perspective, but lack the modularity, enca
psulation, and integration needed for software engineering. The Process-Cen
tric Objects (PCO) paradigm proposes a shift from global process perspectiv
e toward modular system design. By treating process models as classes, Proc
ess-Centric Objects enable the design of autonomous, vertically integrated
process types that encapsulate data, objects, and their lifecycles within a
single executable entity. They also capture how objects relate, compose, i
nteract, and synchronize. This workshop aims to bring together researchers
and practitioners to discuss the formalization, design, and execution of pr
ocess-centric objects, as well as their extraction from discovered process
models, thereby bridging the gap between object centric process mining, sys
tem design, and software engineering.\n\nWe invite submissions on topics in
cluding, but not limited to:\n\n Modularity, Composition, Interaction: For
mal foundations of object-centric models, distinguishing between structural
composition (permanent 1:N and M:N relationships) and dynamic interaction
(event-based synchronization) as modular alternatives to global synchroniza
tion. Formal Mappings and Interoperability: Relationships and transformati
ons between different formalisms for data-centric objects, process-centric
 objects, and object-centric processes (e.g., Entity-Relationship Diagrams,
Class Diagrams, SQL, BPMN, Colored Petri Nets, and OCPN). Case Studies: Ca
se studies demonstrating the PCO paradigm in practice. Inheritance and Pol
ymorphism: Applying theories of inheritance specifically to the lifecycle o
f process-centric objects; focusing on the abstraction and specialization o
f process classes while preserving behavioral consistency. Extraction of C
lasses (Modules): Algorithms for slicing global models into modular, execut
able process-centric classes. Vertical Integration in Process-Centric Obje
ct Applications: Encapsulation of data, application as a lifecycle, and pre
sentation layers within process-centric objects. \n\nPapers should be submi
tted in the LNCS style to https://process-centric-objects.org. Contribution
s will not undergo a detailed review process but will be assessed by the pr
ogram committee for relevance. If requested by the participants, accepted p
apers will be published in a common proceedings volume with AWPN 2026 withi
n the digital library of the German Foundation of Informatics (GI), offerin
g a digital object identifier (DOI). We seek position papers, work in progr
ess and research papers:\n\n Position Papers (2-4 pages): Visionary ideas
on object-centric process and process-centric objects paradigms. Work in P
rogress (up to 6 pages): Ongoing research and research proposals. Full Res
earch Papers (12 pages): Original research on formalisms, modelling methodo
logy or architectures for PCOs. \n\nAbstract Deadline: July 5th 2026 July 3

ation of Acceptance: August 8th 2026 August 20th 2026 Final Version Due: Au
